well what an amazing week we had down at the calvert trust! The scenery, accomodation, food, instructors and horses, the list is endless. I
as a totally scared novice would highly reccommend it to absolutely anyone. cant wait to go again did i really just say that!
brilliant comment from harry. couldnt put it better myself where indeed would we all be without r fantastic team behind us sometimes with a little size 5 cant wait for another exciting summer of events
A full house last night for the quiz, with all the banter, and lots of laughter,
if a stranger had walked into the room they would never guess
that it was a blind and visual impaired club.so many people enjoying themselves.
But this just doesn’t happen by its self, Aileen our club organizer spends a lot of time with the organization of our voluntary drivers. (who join in the fun)
who bring the blind members to the York Hotel and transport them all back to their homes safely.
The quiz is conducted by our jovial quiz master, RUSS, who selects 48 questions with in our brain range.
“Energeyes” club does change members lives for the better.
abba mania at he playhouse last nite we all had a ball even a bit of rocking n jigging going on and singing of course although probably a bit off key but hey its the try that counts.
Happy happy Christmas and a wonderful 2015 to all of my wonderful friends who make up Energeyes. An extra special thank you to our much loved Aileen for all of her hard work which enables us to have Energyeyes. Kym xxx
Aileen,
Thank you for all the hard work and organization you put into Energeyes club in 2014.
I have enjoyed the year very much, Especially the swimming,, and quizzes, I have also been on lots of other outings that has enhanced my life considerably.

Matthew has described our wonderful day at @bristol so well. We all had so much fun and we laughed so much especially when we attempted to play virtual volley ball. Another great event organised by Aileen and enjoyed by all at Energeyes
What a great time we had at @bristol I haven’t laughed so much for ages. It was great to catch up with all of my friends. The photos and videos are brilliant
yet another brilliant experience yesterday on specially adapted bikes. after an amazing cake sale at sues. contemplating what will be next on r hectic agenda.
Well yet another beautiful relaxing day. There was no competition pre planned, but no surprises for who won the wet t shirt competition! And then escaping from wsm seagulls who enjoy leaving a welcome message, i get the only message from the only bird in the whole place. Happy days! Thank goodness for Aileen and her endless supply of wet wipes.
I have just looked at the photo’s of the barn dance and the day at the safari and it was very clear that everyone had a fantastic time.I’m tring to work out who was the most terrified, was it ernest with the snake around his neck or was it i attempting to dance,Alas i think it was probably me.such fun was had by all.x
Thank you all so very much for visiting our web site and commenting. Yes, we did have a wonderful time at The Calvert Trust, Exmoor and are all suffering from withdrawal symptoms, me especially. The friendships made are for life. What a wonderful experience for us all and this is due to EnergEyes. It is a life changing charity and to think we are only three years young in a couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone for their commitment and support and I know we will go from strength to strength, enjoying each others’ company and laughter along the way. Roll on the Annual Barn Dance on the 14th of this month. Lots more fun and laughter to look forward t!!
A wonderful time had by all at the calvert trust.Brilliant to see everyone enloying themselves. There were some pretty tough tasks, involving ropes and bows, but all seemed to have a fun time.Fantastic.
Still recovering from my week at the Calvert trust, I have quite a few memories that will last a long long time. However THE most memorable is the sound of laughter! There was a great deal of laughter from our fabulous members! Can’t until our next gathering.
hi i am thinking of doing the cheddar caves trip but i have big reservations about the darkness n slippery footing what do u know about the place n how safe it would be
I second that Jayne. All the members ask how you are and can’t wait to see you again. Hopefully it won’t be too long now and just image how much noisier it will be with you there too…………………. watch out world!!
Hi, thanks Jayne for that. It’s only because we have such friendly, open minded, up for anything members.
Check out our Facebook page for a new photo of Jean. You will be so impressed! I was.
Dear Kim really missing you on r nites and days out, know you’re there with us in our thoughts cant wait for you to return and cause choas and mayhem on 4 wheels on our next summer trips.
What a great night last night at the Playhouse. Queen tribute band. A big thank you to the man who approached me to ask who we were. I explained we are a happy band of people who enjoy each others company, and like a good night out.Oh and we are a group of blind and visually impaired people. He VERY kindly made a donation. Many many thanks. There are some great people out there!
hi just a note to any one who may have looked at this amazing website. i am a regular member of this truly amazing bunch of people from all walks of life. My life has been transformed during a difficult period following my visual diagnosis 3 years ago. I would recommend anyone to join as not only do we all have an absolute wail of a time socially, there is very little that cannot be achieved, but we are also there for each other when the chips are down. a great many thanks to the magnificent couple that formed this very special club, that is going from strength to strength. jayne x
Two days down the line I still can’t get my socks off without grimacing and I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone from EnergEyes for giving me the chance to ride again; it was amazing. In this modern, fast paced world of cars it’s easy to forget that some of us never get the chance to pilot a fast moving object at speed, the feeling of cantering a horse again after such a long time was brilliant and not a little scary.
EnergEyes has also helped me get myself back on track by assisting me to discover yoga, the practice of which now plays a huge part in my life and has helped me climb out of depression and face the world again.
A great night at the pantomime last night. Cinderella was a great show. Good to have the visual description head phones. Lovely to catch up with everyone, happy Christmas to all my wonderful friends at Energeyes xxxxx
May i say that there is never a dull moment with the energeyes group,it just gets better and better,The days out are brilliant and you can see how much fun they are all having.Well done Aileen and spud for coming up with all the ideas of where to go next. Its fab
I was lucky enough to spend the day at Brean Downs with Aileen,Spud,Phylis,Philip,Eileen,Jean,Andrew and Ernest and i have to say we all had a fine old time trekking along(although ernie and i were lagging behind)It was a very enjoyable day and it was wonderful to meet such a lovely bunch of people.I can see why ernest enjoys himself so much when he goes out with the gang. You are so very much appreciated by so many people in the group.a big thank you to you all.gwen

Calvert trust …. Well what can I say every activity was a first for me and I thoroughly enjoyed every one of the activities. It was all wonderful thank you Aileen for organising it and us we all had a great time. Also many thanks to spud and Nick for helping so much. I don’t know what was my favourite , when I tell people I’ve been canoeing, climbing, absailing, horse riding, on a zip wire, archery and team building I’m sure they look at me and think I’m telling fibs! The accommodation and food were great what a complete fantastic experience.
I have just spent a lovely hour looking at photos of my friend Kym on this website. I am full of admiration for what she achieves. I know she enjoys the company and days out with all her friends at EnergEyes. She is a great inspiration to me and I know that anything is possible if you try hard enough. The only problem I have is that you have to book Kymmy up weeks in advance as her social life is off the scale!
Tynsfield what a wonderful day great people, wonderful weather and beautiful location. Great fun and how wonderful to be motorised. Many thanks to the wonderful volunteers who without we would not have such great experiences.

This website is simple and reads well for people using speech screen readers like Jaws. A great idea for your group. Tony Giles
